There are two possible scenario’s when the error message says that the account has been locked for 72-hours:
You have attempted to sign in to the account several times and failed each time. This will cause the account to lock for 72-hours to prevent fraudulent attempts to access the account.
You have attempted to verify your identity and failed several times, which has locked the identity profile on Experian’s side.
In either scenario, the unfortunate solution is that you will need to wait out the 72-hour lockout period before you can attempt again. If the first scenario applies, we recommend you choose the “Forgot password” link under the sign in fields before attempting again to avoid another 72-hour lockout. If the second scenario applies, we recommend that you pull your Experian credit report to confirm the identification information and/or the answers to the knowledge-based authentication questions before attempting again.
